  • Quiet getaway 1h away from DC. The loop is quick and can easily be done twice. The trail goes by the water and marshes off the Easter shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Highly recommend.
  • Great little park with pretty beach, but I’ve been here twice, and both times the trails were impassible in places with deep mud and water - no way to get around except to slog it out or go back. I know it’s the outdoors, but rubber boots are the only footwear that would survive it. Lot of clean up for me and the dogs before we could get back in the car (sand from the beach is fine but that black mud is tough). Hope they can patch up the bad spots. Maybe some signs at the start of the trail to warn in the meantime.
