We consider ourselves the chamber of commerce of outdoor recreation in that we connect our guests with an experience of a lifetime that is catered to their wishes. Our goal at Umiak is to offer an array of outdoor adventure services that enhance the enjoyment of nature by building confidence, skills and knowledge.

Our products and services run the gamut with something for everyone in every season. Our retail location on Rte 100 in Stowe carries 85 different models of canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards from some of the world’s top manufacturers. We also carry paddles, PFDs, spray skirts, car racks and apparel making us a one stop paddle shop!

In addition to retail sales, our ACA certified staff lead demos, clinics and guided trips every week that cater to everyone from beginners to seasoned paddlers. With varying distances and difficulties, our self-guided programs are also great for a wide range of skill sets.

In the winter Umiak turns into Stowe’s backcountry ski and snowshoe specialist. We’re Vermont’s leading Tubbs Snowshoe dealer, and carry other winter brands such as K2, Karhu, Black Diamond, G3, Garmont and Scarpa. We offer guided ski and snowshoe tours as well.

Come check out our retail location in Stowe’s lower village open 7 days a week and Richmond or visit one of our outposts at the Waterbury Reservoir, North Beach in Burlington, off of Rte 2 in Waterbury or off of Rte 15 in Jeffersonville!
