von Trapp Brewing is a brewery in Stowe, Vermont, United States. Founded in 2010, as Trapp Lager, it is part of the Trapp Family businesses. The brewery, owned by Sam von Trapp, produces around 2,000 barrels of beer per year. It was the brainchild of Sam's father, Johannes, one of the three children of Georg and Maria von Trapp. The project was delayed, partly because it took almost two years to complete the EB-5 process. Its products are available in twelve states, as of 2022.Make von Trapp Brewing part of your personalized Stowe itinerary using our Stowe trip maker site.
In September 2016, the family opened the von Trapp Bierhall on Luce Hill Road, around a mile down the hill from Trapp Family Lodge, which serves food and beverages. The beers are sold on-site. After initially being available only in Vermont, in 2015 they expanded sales into New Hampshire and Massachusetts. They are now also available in Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

We headed here to grab a beer and play some disc golf on the on-site 18 hole course. What we didn't expect was a full blown Oktoberfest happening when we arrived! The owner was exceptionally accommodating and let us in without tickets to grab a beer. We enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the musicians play while drinking our beverages. They didn't have any gluten free beer for me, so I was stuck with cider again. We were really wanting to grab a quick bite also, but since there was a festival going on, we couldn't because we hadn't paid for a ticket and everything they were offering was full of meat and wheat. No good for a vegetarian with Celiac. While that didn't pan out (and the reason for 4 stars), the disc golf course was fantastic! Great signage and tee pads and very scenic. We would definitely play this course again if we're ever back up this way.
Great stop in the Stowe area. Can get busy so keep your happiness shining. We sampled four different brews and all were excellent. Dinner was great. The cheese soup is delicious. The help was cheerful and quick to assist. Enjoy yourself here, it's easy!
