Door County’s First and Only Cheese Factory Tour!

Looking for an original educational experience or field trip idea? Why not learn about one of the most delicious products that Wisconsin has to offer and the family tradition of cheese making? Visit our local cheese factory and:

• Learn about the family tradition of cheese making.

• Discover why cheese curds squeak and why cheese is yellow

• Enjoy a 5 minute video of the cheese making process

• Sample our fresh cheeses

We make cheese curds fresh everyday!

Cheese factory tours are $3 per person. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will show a short video of and guide you through the cheese making process. Due to the small size of our factory and restrictions on visitors in production areas, the tour is limited.

Tours generally take half an hour and are offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. also on Thursday and Friday at 8:00 a.m. Reservations are required.

Renard’s Cheese is owned and operated by Chris and Ann Renard. Chris Renard is a third generation cheesemaker and has earned the Master Cheesemaker designation. The family is committed to maintaining high quality, gourmet handcrafted cheese.

Please note:

• Because we are an active manufacturing facility, we allow limited access in production areas.

• No open toe shoes allowed on tours

• No photographs may be taken in production areas

• Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate walk-in tours. Please reserve your tour in advance by telephoning Debbie or Ann at 920-825-7272.

  • Stopped here to get some cheese. There was some available to taste. They were all good. Especially liked the triple cheese. Excellent flavor.

  • Had the Classic (cheese) and Italian sandwiches for take-out, and they were SCRUMPTIOUS. Nice presentation with a small salad. Friendly service. You order at a counter, so there is no table...

  • You go there and think, "Oh, I'll get some cheese" then 10 minutes later you have $100 of amazing cheese in your basket and you're super excited to go home and eat it but wait! Now they have baked goods! Their maple cinnamon bun was easily the best version of a cinnamon roll I've ever had. I only got one, ate it yesterday, and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Grab a few when you're there. You won't regret it! Also, probably grab at least 2 of everything, honestly.
  • I'm pretty hooked on their excellent string cheese. Such good taste, and creamy, not rubbery and stiff like some string cheese is. Sometimes it's creamier than other times when we get it in the store, and when it has started turning more rubbery, I wonder if it might be just a little less fresh. I'd love to hear from the company as to whether that's what causes the variation. But very very good!
