The population was 4,211 at the 2010 census.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 58.2sqkm, of which 58.2sqkm is land and 0.07% is water.The township is drained by the Susquehanna River and Nescopeck Mountain forms its natural northern boundary. Its unincorporated communities include Black Ridge, Council Crest, Sybertsville, and Tomhicken. Route 93 serves the township and interchanges with Interstate 80 in the township.
