    The views at the top, at turnouts along the road, are exceptional. But at $20 plus $5 for each passenger, it is not a bargain. The road is steep & there are numerous hairpin turns along the way but...

    A private road takes you up the five or so miles to the top for great views of the area. Owned by Carthusian monks who can't receive visitors because of their commitment to solitude and prayer and work. Chartreuse is what their French brothers are famous for.

    Fun drive up to the top of a beautiful place. Nice views and visitor center. Nice signs explaining what you see. Fun places to picnic so make sure you bring one!
