Applegate Trail Interpretive Center, Sunny Valley

What an unexpected treat. High quality museum devoted to the Applegate trail and early settlers. We had a nice brunch at the Wolf Creek Inn and toured through the ghost town of Golden. On our way back to Grants Pass we we're happy to find the museum open. There is a small gift/antique shop in the front of the building with the exhibits behind. It's a privately run museum so there is a small entrance fee but I found it to be well worth the price of admission. Be sure to also check out the covered bridge if you are in the area.

My Husband and I are locals and had been meaning to visit the museum for the longest time, we finally did so today. It is literally "Chockers" full of local history, from the genuine antiques and artifacts, cinema/movie representation, and interactive displays. President Hayes is also mentioned with photos. Extremely well worth visiting! Can not recommend it high enough! Only open during Summer Months however so visit while you can. Donations appreciated to keep this history alive.
