The Nature Center offers interpretive exhibits, educational programs, a botanical garden, nature trail, live birds of prey, reptiles and amphibians and an enthusiastic staff and volunteers to provide a fun and thoughtful view of our natural world.

The Observatory and Dr. Robert M. Glass Starport houses telescopes ranging in size from 4" to 20". The Observatory staff and volunteers provide a relaxed and fun atmosphere for observing the moon, stars, planets, nebulae, and galaxies. Sunriver boasts one of the best "in town" views of the night sky thanks to a progressive lighting ordinance.

  • It was an awesome place it was so peaceful and the 1st time I saw a swan in person I didn't realize had big they are. And you can education while you are enjoying the small animals also. 🤩
  • We used the Discovery pass via the Deschutes Library. Our trip here was underwhelming. We saw a few birds and bees.. Nothing too spectacular. Definitely prefer the High Desert Museum. Will have to check out but Observatory side one day though.
