  • Beautiful piece of property along the James. Fossils! Nice beach, great place to go running or walking. Would return here for a month in-depth hike…

  • It's another great Virginia State Park. This one is on the James River with beautiful views of the river from the visitor center. Campground has pretty good sites at 1-18. The other loop seems more for short trailers and tent camping. A mansion is also at the park with free tours available. Our tour guide was excellent.
  • A special park in our home state of VA. We've visited many state parks and this one is at the top for solidarity. We stayed in cabin 2. The cabin is surrounded by acres of land and there is a trail out back if you follow the farm road. There is a great farm equipment museum near the farm animals. The fossil beach had so many great finds, you could get lost there for hours. We took the free ferry to Jamestown and Williamsburg each day for site seeing.
