The American Museum of the House Cat reviews
So it was an amazing collection and fun to explore. Who knew there were cat pinball machines? The owner was an informative guide. All in all it is not that big. It took less than an hour to examine..... more »
An eclectic collection of all things cat. Paintings by known artists, posters, every toy type you can think of, ancient Egyptian artifacts, rides, too much to list. A 35 year collection of a cat... more »
This museum is amazing! I love everything about it. The artifacts are so fascinating and it was a pleasure meeting Dr. Sims and learning a tiny bit of his knowledge. The best part is what he stands for and what the museum stands for. Everything is to benefit the no kill shelter. I highly suggest everyone that loves animals come visit. You will love seeing the artifacts from all over the world that he had collected for over 30 years and you will be benefiting a great cause. After going through the museum I purchased every book that was available and written by Dr. Sims. They are fantastic books and I highly recommend getting them. I also joined the membership program while I was there. I encourage everyone to become a member that visits the museum to help the cats. I wish I lived closer so I could volunteer and spend more time there bit unfortunately I do not live in the same state. I will travel back again to visit and encourage everyone to stop and see this magical place.
We enjoyed seeing all the cat artifacts. Amazing collection, especially the cat mummy. The museum will close in November 2019 to move across the road. Go to see it soon! The admission fee to the museum supports a no-kill cat shelter.
