I am Conductor Warren on the Hurricane Turn. This page is NOT part of the Alaska Railroad. Their page is here https://www.facebook.com/AlaskaRailroad?fref=ts . The Hurricane Turn is the last flag stop train in the US. We will stop and let you off at any point in route and pick you back up either later that same day or spend a night or two in the Alaska wilderness. You can fish in Indian River take a wilderness hike or just camp out in nature. Not that adventurous just take the entire 115-mile route for a one-of-a- kind day trip, starting in Talkeetna, the route threads its way along the Susitna River and through the Indian River Canyon then back to Talkeetna. Along the way we will show you Denali known as Mt McKinley to the visitors (If She isn't hiding behind the clouds,) beautiful streams and rivers mountains and canyons. Don't forget Hurricane Gulch a 296 foot canyon that we cross. We have been known to stop and watch a moose and her calves or bear and her cubs. Want a photo of that flower you see out the window? Tell the conductor and he will stop the train so you can get that award winning photo. No I won't let you off to take that bear photo. Shh don’t tell anyone but we have been known to back up to get that photo you want. Before you head to Talkeetna, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Talkeetna journey maker, to make sure you see all that Talkeetna has to offer, including Hurricane Turn.
I ask that you help build this page by posting your own photos and videos that you took during your day on the Hurricane turn. I hope you are our guest soon on the Hurricane Turn! ALL ABOARD
