A nonprofit sanctuary for rescued wildcats, Big Cat Rescue is home to more than 100 big cats, such as tigers, bobcats, and a liger. The shelter has rescued many abused or abandoned wildcats, including Skip the bobcat, which came in with a broken pelvis. Skip's surgery and recovery was made possible through donations from people who saw his story on Facebook and other social media sites. Take a day tour, night tour, or even a feeding tour of the rescue center. Just be sure to book online or call the center in advance if you would like to visit. • They are so big cat oriented and not out make money off their rescues. They give the best care possible with compassionate caretakers that provide for the big cats.

  • Shout out to CB. Passing thru your area, was hoping to meet you but looks like you’re closed. Can you recommend a good cut of meat at the Smokey Bones BBQ joint next door to your establishment? Smells really good.
  • We made the mistake of driving to Big Cat Rescue without doing research. We just read it was a top attraction in Tampa and decided to go. Followed Google Maps to a closed gate then looked at website saying it was closed. I know they are doing much needed work with the cats and we hope to someday make it back to Florida and visit!
