  • Great zoo. Awesome Christmas decorations and lights. Very large kids area. The african bus tour is well worth the wait. The manatee rescue area is fantastic.

  • The zoo is an awesome Tampa experience, fun for all ages. It's a great attraction for young kids with a carousel and whole area dedicated to kids with a splash pad, playground, and rides. The manatee cave is a must visit. It's dark and cool and offers an underwater view of the manatees. You can watch them eat and swim. Kids love it and it's a nice place to sit down and take a break from the heat. The new Florida Wilds offers great views of the Florida panther, wolves, and bears. We've been able to see the bears and wolves quite active in their enclosures. The zoo has started offering some pretty good food options. The kids area has a Wendy's truck that sells ice cream and I've seen street corn stands for sale. There is also a hot dog booth with specialty hot dogs. The Africa area has a nice safari ride that takes you behind the scenes of a bunch of different animals. They seem to have such great staff and really passionate animal keepers who are always happy to talk about the animals and share their knowledge.
  • My family and I have experienced a vast amount of zoos between states. Tampa zoo reminds us of Animal Kingdom, located at Disney World Orlando. We absolutely love this zoo. Being in Florida it gets HOT, so this zoo is more equipped to handle the heat with plenty of blowing fans, shady areas, nice eateries with air conditioning, and best of all, the slash pad areas. Bring flip flops or extra shoes to make sure you can cool off while walking around damp. Phenomenal zoo experience. Animals have large enclosures, the one downside was the string ray encounter is closed at this time. We got our tickets and are able to use them until the end of 2022. This zoo did not disappoint. Welcome to bring drinks, with a few exceptions. If it’s a restaurant cup, take lid and straw off/out. I have seen people with personal yeti cups with their own lids and straws. Excited to come back again and again til the end of this year!
