The Course

"The most unique golf course I've ever designed." Joe Lee

International Golf Club (formerly Deer Island Golf and Lake Club) is Central Florida's most unforgettable golf experience. Enjoy the panoramic views and wildlife as Deer Island carves its way through the environmentally protected Florida wetlands. Our black tees playing over 7000 yards will challenge any golfer, but with five different sets of tees accommodates every level of golfer.

Accentuated with water on every hole and Joe Lee's signature finger style bunkers. International Golf Club on Deer Island is a golf course with true character.

  • Played Deer Island on a Saturday afternoon in May. Pros: Very interesting and varied layout- course has great bones; lots of water and sand, forcing you to really focus on your targets and execute shots; clubhouse was fine, big and airy, with a friendly and fast full service bar; felt like a high end private club that was going through a transition Cons: Greens are very distressed, with lots of invasive growth and many bare spots, making putting an adventure; pro shop was tiny, though they seem to be remodeling, so that may change Overall, this course has great potential, and I expect that it will rebound under what I hear is a new owner. I would absolutely play the course again when I am next in Orlando.
  • Beautiful course and area. Lots of water. Greens are really in need of repair. Price is right for low pressure play or practice.
