Wolf Haven International, Tenino

A sanctuary for captive-born animals, Wolf Haven International offers educational programs and guided visits. This hands-off sanctuary provides shelter without socializing with the wolves--this means that there's no physical contact between the animals and visitors or caretakers. Visits are by reservation only and include a tour of the public section, where you'll potentially be able to see several wolfs in a natural and serene environment. • You need to make a reservation for the tour ( and you have to go with a guide). This was very easy to do and the sanctuary is very easy to find. Our tour leader was a volunteer named Karen, who was so...  more »
  • My ex-wife had this place on her bucket list for some reason and she couldn't find someone else to go there with her, I guess. I didn't even know there was such a place, so I was a little bit curious after being informed. We got there and signed in for the guided tour that took about an hour. The enclosures for the wolves were FAR smaller than I would have hoped and each held a pair,(male/female), of different species of wolves. I was pretty Shocked to find out that One of the pair had been owned by 5 different narcissistic "idiots" before finally arriving at Wolf Haven. Although I applaud Wolf Haven for their efforts, I wish the wolves would have never been forced to be influenced by Stupid humans.
  • Wonderful sanctuary. Got lots of good info on the wolf's. Also went to the educational center for a 2 hour talk about wolf's coming back to the USA. A worthwhile trip
