  • Imagine, deer, trees, meadows just off highway 101. I especially enjoy the Cheseboro canyon area. Walk, contemplate, visualize the oak forest, watch for deer and critters. Wonderful place.

  • This is a nice National Recreation Area. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This park is made up of multiple state parks plus other protected land and has many miles of hiking trails. I drove along Route 1 and stopped at a couple beaches which are a part of this recreation area, and they were pretty nice. I drove by a sand dune you can hike up but I didn’t go on it because I didn’t have enough time to complete it. I then went to the park visitor center, which is located at Gillette Ranch. The visitor center has some trails, which were pretty nice. This park has many trails in the Santa Monica Mountains as well as the Paramount Ranch, which is where many old movies were filmed. After visiting the visitor center, I left the park, satisfied with my experience. I gave this National Recreation Area five stars because it has lots of trails you can hike on through mountains and it also has nice beaches. I would’ve hiked on more mountain trails but I didn’t have time.
  • Some of the most beautiful places on our planet are surprisingly right in our backyard; for any SoCal residents reading this. Being able to get up and drive a mere 20 minutes to catch a beautiful California sunset in the costal mountains of Santa Monica is a blessing. I recommend everyone to try this experience.
