Visit Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park for a glimpse into the history of the Old West in this historic silver mining town. The two-story brick structure that looks like a Roman cross was once Cochise County's jail, and included courtrooms and offices for the sheriff, treasurer, and board of supervisors. Built in 1882, it now houses exhibits that describe life for the miners, cattlemen, and pioneers who built Tombstone. Exhibits include a tax license for the operation of a brothel, a replica of the original gallows that stood in the courthouse courtyard, and many examples of firearms owned and used by the pioneers during the mining boom. The site offers numerous shaded picnic areas. • When visiting tombstone we were able to check out the courthouse. Another museum filled with history and preservation of the the town. So much to observe from carriages, old fashion clothing, newspapers, an old court room, lots of Wyatt Earp memorabilia, and an old gallows in the back! A trip back into time recommend checking this museum out as well!
  • Tombstone was amazing. Everything I've ever hoped for. Been wanting to go for decades since my first western movie. Awesome sights, very good actors/personnel. My mother in law was approached by the Cochise County Sheriff, he attempted to serve a warrant but not unlike Ike Clanton... she got away with it. 😆 🤣. The Court house is a must see, very cool stuff in there. There are events that you must purchase tickets for, you might want to get in at a decent time of day to insure that you get a seat before last show. However, it is free to walk around but to fully enjoy your visit, bring plenty of cash.. Not because you have too, but you will definitely want too. P.s. Big Nose Kate's Saloon was EPIC, and has an amazing Brisket, but also a friendly veggie selection as well.
