  • The Kansas City Museum opened in the 1980s and it looks and feels like it. Most of the exhibits are looking a little dated and the history timeline abruptly ends in the mid-1980s. However, there are many interesting exhibits including a newish one that profiles each of the state's 105 counties with a unique story - some fascinating stuff. There are a number of significant artifacts including rail cars and an old steam engine. You get a good sense of the region's history including the turbulent times leading up to and including the Civil War. Plan on spending about 90 minutes or so here.
  • A favorite place to sit in peace. Although I appreciate the natural paths, it would be nice to have more paved walkways around the area.
