  • The Grundy County Historical Society has a very knowledgeable staff, invested in the community, and goes out of their way to take the time to answer questions posed by visitors. Just based on a first visit I will return and will consider membership in the affirmative when I am first able to join. Wonderful!
  • Most excellent home for preservation of history of Grundy County, its early days and settlers / founders, driving industry and connections to Tennessee Coal & Iron Company, a key asset, later, of its major competitor, United States Steel Giant. The nearby Swiss Colony of Gruetli-Laager is well represented and covers original families and those few members whose forebears founded it in 1869, who remain prominent even today. If Tennessee history is in your blood, drop by and get a bountiful transfusion.
