Michigan Artists Gallery (MAG) is decidedly contemporary, colorful, and represents many of Michigan's most popular established lifelong artists. Fine art, the best of contemporary folk art, regional photography, and the wearable art of fiber artist, Chris Triola, are represented by the gallery. MAG focuses on artwork that is joyful, uplifting, and many times humorous.

You will find the much sought after contemporary folk art of self taught artists, Jil Johnson & Chris Roberts-Antieau, sculpture from ‘found object’ artist Ritch Branstrom, Char Bickel's mixed media shadow boxes, Meredith Krell's hand colored linoleum prints, Pat Custer Denison's tile wood constructions, the watercolors of folk painter, Dana Constand, the humorous sculpture of folk artist, Jesse Hickman, and etchings from printmaker, Steve Toornman.

The representational work of the areas most beautiful landscapes and still life are revealed in the works of award winning painters, Angela Saxon, Carla Sutton, Anne Corlett Wiley, and Dan Oberschulte.

The gallery also represents Ken Scott's regional photography, the aerial photography of Jim Anderson, and nationally known wildlife photographer, Carl Sams.

MAG was named "Best Gallery in Leelanau County" by the readers of the Northern Express Magazine in 2004 & 2008 polls and named "one of three essential art venues" in the book, 100 Best Art Towns in America

  • A fun and surprisingly sprawling collection, coupled with friendly staff and a welcoming range of price points. This is art for the masses - unassuming, wonderfully displayed and something for everyone.
  • Please post your hours on your door since Google can't always be trusted to post correct hours. I'd like to come in and find a piece of art for my wife. Beautiful store and helpful owner. Very nice place.
