  • Park the car and embark on a light, pleasant track, mostly in the shade of trees with a pleasant breeze on the places, despite the considerable warmth. The water and the sounds of the leaves in the wind give special serenity to the bottom of the waterfall. On the way there are several places where children placed one of the slate stones on top of each other. The park, like many in the US, is tidy, spacious and very clean. Although it is clearly written that the bathing is forbidden, there were quite a few who chose to bathe in the water. Many came with their dogs, who found the track light and pleasant, too.

  • Stopping in Ithaca for just a day, several locals said this was one of the top falls to visit...and it did not disappoint! The falls were magnificent...taller than Niagara. The trails were well kept and there were excellent photo opportunities. In addition to the hike down to the falls, the North Rim and South Rim trails were a great addition to the experience. Our elementary aged kids loves it. Its a great place for animals as lots of folks were walking their dogs. The restroom facilities were clean and well maintained while the gift shop and park employees were helpful in making the most of our time there. Parking was a little full on a Sunday afternoon, but there was a triathlon that day too.
  • I really have to say I enjoy walking the trails at Taughannock I don't seem to do it nearly as much as I should. But this last time I was there I walked the bottom trail and I walked it alone. I have walked that trail probably 50 times since I've lived in Ithaca and that was the first time I walked the trail alone. It was just breath taking! I left my phone in the car as well!! Anyways I just wanted to say it is a wonderfully place to go for a walk!
