Trip Planner: USA / Massachusetts / Cape Cod / Truro / Head of the Meadow Beach
Sit back or get active at Head of the Meadow Beach, which offers everything you could want in a beach. Visit the beach--protected by high sand dunes--and walk across the white sand, then frolic in the tidal pool while it’s shallow. Watch seals playing in the distance and keep your eye on the tide; when it starts to come in, conditions are perfect to learn to surf. Part of Cape Cod National Seashore, the beach offers a decent number of public parking spaces. Lifeguards patrol the beach, which has public facilities including male and female dressing rooms. Use our Truro trip planner to add Head of the Meadow Beach and other attractions to your Truro vacation plans.

We camped at North of Highland for a week this August and absolutely loved our experience at Head of the Meadow beach (Truro Town Beach side). Even though the purple- dangerous marine life- flags flew each day we were there, we still felt comfortable swimming in the water closer to shore. Waves were breaking on or near the shore with a bit of a drop off during high tide but during low tide there were at least 100 kids and adults boogie boarding and having a blast. The shark sensor there was picking up sharks most days and we saw seals every day but we felt comfortable swimming anyway. Gorgeous views and lively waves only a 5 minute walk from the campground with free walk in access. Can’t beat that for a budget vacation!
Love love love. Great for swimming. One of my favorites. Only beach where I see the purple flags flying. Seals must like it too 🤣
