  • The Boston Avenue United Methodist Church is many things at once. It is of course first and foremost a house of worship. It is a magnificent example of Art Deco architecture, perhaps one of the finest in the world. It is a striking landmark on the Tulsa skyline both day and night. And it is a tourist attraction which is what my review will highlight. The attached photo is from our room at the nearby Ambassador Hotel. While the hotel is pricey by Tulsa standards this view alone makes it all worthwhile. Tulsa has many examples of dramatic architecture for its houses of worship but the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church is one that stands alone ... literally ... from every angle.
  • Friendly, caring, outreaching to all. Historical art deco building, regardless of your spiritual journey, it is worth visiting and asking for a tour. Large groups can call ahead for an appointment. Architects and draftsmen (gender inclusive) should make every effort to study the building and it's controversial is important.
