Tupelo National Battlefield commemorates the American Civil War battle of Tupelo, also known as the Battle of Harrisburg, fought from July 14 to 15, 1864, near Tupelo, Mississippi. The Union victory over Confederate forces in northeast Mississippi ensured the safety of Sherman's supply lines during the Atlanta Campaign.

  • This is a small National Battlefield on the corner of a intersection. Unless you're a Civil War buff who must visit all the sites it's not worth visiting unless you're right there. There are graves and markers of soldiers who died there.
  • Disappointing that there wasn't any descriptive signage at the site. Brochure described the battle and depicted several related sites, but no information on where they might be. Important to record and remember our history no matter what......
