Experience what is considered to be one of the most picturesque lighthouses in the United States when you visit Split Rock Lighthouse. Sitting on the edge of a cliff that juts out into the water, this National Historic Landmark offers photo opportunities as well as historical background. Take the tour of the lighthouse, which brings you into the keepers' houses and up to the top, or explore on your own with the help of plentiful signs and posted information. For the best views of the lighthouse, hike down to the rocky beach below using either the stairs or the trail. Put Split Rock Lighthouse on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Two Harbors road trip planning site.

The historical center and grounds are nice but the trails leading out are stunning. Take some time and get out there.

Probably one of my new favorite places we’ve been! Admissions were very reasonable. Tour guides were well informed and had so many interesting things to talk about. Loved going to the house and touring there. The lighthouse was very neat as well. The whole history around this place was very interesting. Go here if you’re in the area and take the walk down to Pebble Beach to see the lighthouse from below. Definitely worth the view!

8 dollars per person when I came in 2nd of April. I love this place, it's fascinating how the people lived and built at time. There is a little museum explain the story, a theatre with a movie explaining the origins, trails to walk around and the light house which you can enter but then you need to book in advance and it's a guided tour (cost extra too). There is also a little shop to buy souvenir which is cute. I love this place, but one tip, it's super windy up there in the lighthouse so be aware.
