  Primarily natural history. Many of their exhibits are casting replicas of originals which is why i rated it 4 of 5. Its not the oriental institure at U of C or the Peabody at YaLe but its a nice...  more »

  First, it is a museum of world cultures; second, it has a lecture hall for public lectures and films/movies; third, often in conjunction with the second function, it provides a venue for receptions.  more »

  This was a great little museum. If it's free it's for me! My oldest son loved the mummy they had on display. They showed pictures too of what they thought the mummy looked like if he/she was still alive. Many of the items they had on display were replicas, but just as fun to look at. I wouldn't say a great place for young children. Easy to sound an hour here.

  A great little museum, just the right size for curious kids, even kindergarten aged! The collection (many reproductions, but some real) is large and diverse enough to keep them and the adults interested, while small enough that they won't get bored or overwhelmed. Super friendly staff, very welcoming space -- Spurlock is a nice museum to get an hour or two of something different.
