  • If this place was in another State, it would be a National Park. Great hikes in a variety of areas. This is a medium elevation desert. Not as cold as Zion in the winter, but still can be chilly...

  • This is one of our favorite state parks. The bright red rocks mixed with black and white rocks is incredible. Love that there are peaks you can scramble up, hiking trails to walk along, and sand dunes to play in. Our son loves the sandy “beach without water”. This park is always clean and taken good care of. It can get busy but has never felt over crowded.
  • We loved this place so much I strongly recommend it over Zion. Breathtaking views but nowhere near as congested and crowded. We did a short hike to a small slot canyon, Jenny’s Canyon. That was quite a bit of fun for the kids. Then we did the lava flow trail, bring headlamps or an actual flashlight, not just your phone! It was a great bit of adventure to explore the lava tubes together. At the end of the trail there was a small mountain we climbed to get even more incredible views. This place is truly a gem.
