Piney Lake is well worth a visit. The road is a bit rough, but passable in any car. The Lake is in a beautiful setting. Lots of water craft can be rented. People fish there, although i've never seen a... more »
A beautiful area of the Rocky Mountains to go hiking with dramatic scenery, or stay overnight at a cabin or camping. Piney lake gives you access to light water sports - canoeing and paddle boarding. There are a few trails including one that takes you to waterfalls - but it a 4 hour round trip st least. The Ranch offers sleeping, Horseback riding, restrooms and has a restaurant. Great wedding destination! Beware: the road up to Piney Ranch is long and unpaved!
The ranch and views are 5 star but the food falls a bit short. Too much bun not enough meat. The potato salad was not cooked through. Worth the trip
