One of the largest and most popular ski areas in the world, Vail Mountain Resort has more than 2,100 hectares (5,200 acres) of navigable terrain and 11.3 km (7 mi) of backcountry. A true gem of Colorado's massive selection of mountains, Vail offers well-maintained snow and grounds, ski parks, race courses, and runs serviced by high-speed and high-capacity lifts. Probably the top ski resort for families in the area. Enormous amount of greens and blues, plenty of rest cabins, and world-class instruction. Due to its size, lift lines change in different areas of the park. Back bowls allow for even more epic landscapes, especially with fresh powder. The runs near the base can get slick at the end of the day, but it's nice to take a final gondola ride up and ski straight into the patio bar.

Excellent ski resort! We arrived late and the front desk gave us a slight discount to accommodate. The conditions were good and there’s plenty of slopes to choose from at various levels. Only wish it was a little more snowboarder friendly as you can find yourself having to unbuckle to get across some of the flatter terrain.
