  • Any time we can find a space that tells us a bit more about the new location we happen to be visiting, we try our best to stop there. The PoCo Museum is free and worth the stop. You should plan to spend an hour or two there to really get a feel for the exhibits, but not much longer. There is a scavenger hunt for the younger crowd, and the back area, which doubled as a jail holds several fossils of animals found on the farmland of Porter County residents.
  • Free admission, but donations are welcome. Interesting exhibits. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. While it doesn't have its own designated parking, there are many free parking lots to the east and south of the building. Cool mammoth skull! There are stairs to enter, and no handicap accessibility to go upstairs, but it is an older building. Beautifully preserved artifacts. Fun way to spend an hour. Wish they were open on Tuesdays so we could stop by after visiting the farmer's market. Such a nice piece of history!
