#10 of 16 in Things to do in Versailles
Farm · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Eckert’s Inc., is the largest family-owned and operated pick-your-own orchard in the United States. Originally established as a farm and simple roadside stand in Illinois, the Eckert family now owns and operates farming, entertainment and retail entities in Belleville, Grafton and Millstadt, Illinois and most recently Versailles, Kentucky. For a century, Eckert’s has been a local source for agricultural products including pick-your-own strawberries, blackberries, peaches, apples, and pumpkins during the growing season. Today, Eckert’s offers an experience that extends beyond pick-your-own produce to include a Country Store and family activities.

Enjoy a day on the farm and create lasting family memories.

  • Awesome place to come. Great place to bring the whole family especially the kids. Have a fun tractor ride and many other activities. Fruit available is super fresh and also have a great selection of other specialties such as peach and Blackberry cider and tons of desserts. Will definitely come back.
  • No public bathrooms, only port a pottys with empty hand sanitizer dispensers. It has a nice play area and looks well maintained. It just feels like a health and safety issue to not have real bathrooms. I prefer other orchards to this one because of that. They have a Cafe that is away from the main building during peak season. They didn't have apple cider in stock for their drinks even though it was listed on the menu. We had to go in the main building to buy apple cider then come back out to buy our food. I was annoyed. But the food came to us quickly compared to Evan's Orchard who are notoriously slow. They hosted a Scouts day that we took advantage of. Wearing our uniforms, we got in free. At $12 a kid and $6 per adult, it would have cost us $30 otherwise. I appreciated them hosting that event.
