Chahinkapa Zoo is an 29-acre (12 ha) zoo in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Opened in 1933 on land that had been purchased in 1903, it is the first zoo built in North Dakota. It is open May through October and by appointment during the winter. Chahinkapa Zoo has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) since 1995. The zoo lost its accreditation in 2021.

Great small-town zoo! It was fun to see different animals than we've seen at the Bismarck and Minot zoo. Watching the trainers work with the orangutan was the highlight of our visit!

Absolutely beautiful zoo!! Much better than most of the bigger ones we have been to. Highly recommended!!! Well worth a side trip.

My fiancé and I just went for the first time. Nothing negative about our experience. The animals are very unique and fun. You can be quite close up making for a great experience. Highly recommend
