#5 of 13 in Golf in Island of Hawaii
Located at approximately 1,000 feet of elevation, Waikoloa Village Golf Club in Waikoloa, HI offers golfers an experience like no other.

Anyone who enjoys the sport will love putting along generous fairways and well-guarded greens, all with a view of the Kohala coastline and five volcanoes. Located in an arid setting, Waikoloa Village Golf Club offers warm and dry playing conditions 365 days per year. The famous architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Waikoloa Village Golf Club, the second oldest golf course on the big island.

Waikoloa Village Golf Club’s course provides something for every level of golfer. Wide landing areas encourage aggressive tee shots, and the course’s large, undulating greens challenge all golfers.

Golfers can find tee times online 24 hours a day, and a newly renovated golf shop sells golf equipment, such as golf clubs, and golf accessories, and apparel. The club’s trained staff also provides free fitting sessions.

A clubhouse restaurant is open seven days a week for hungry golfers, and the course’s practice range, large putting green, and chipping green are all open daily. For those new to the sport, Waikoloa Village Golf Club also offers private and groups lessons. Players can also enjoy scenic views while traveling from hole to hole in smooth EZ Go golf carts.

  • You can play cheaply if you stay in the Village. Compared to golf courses around Oahu, the course and form are definitely good off.

  • My wife and I are here. The beach course, the King course, and the trip aimed at playing my neighbor Maurarani were well enough. The room was one bedroom, but there was plenty and facilities to live in, washing golf wear every day, cooking and shopping in the meantime. There is a supermarket and a restaurant within a few minutes' drive, and there is an environment where you can enjoy eating out and eating out and eating in the room. I enjoyed living abroad for a short time. The difficulty is that i could hear the sound of water upstairs.

  • Nice course, has a pleasant "locals" feel. The kikuyu (?) fairways take some getting used to, as do the pea gravel bunkers. The latter is necessitated by the periodic big winds. Course in good shape, staff is very friendly and helpful.
  • What a great course and staff! Tom, the manager, really took care of us (two couples in a four-some). We had booked through Tee Off/EZ Links and, as a result, there are no refunds if it's raining or windy. We were to play in a few days when a large storm was scheduled to come through. We called and thought about cancelling. However, Tom went out of his way to find a slot for us two days prior to the storm and made sure we weren't charged any rebooking fees. He even called me the night before at 6:00 p.m. to confirm I was all taken care of! Talk about GREAT service. The day we arrived, it was beautiful and busy. Tom made sure we were set and we ended up with a GREAT experience! We went out on time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We have played the course several times over the years and it was in great shape this year (early February, 2019) with fairways mowed well and the greens in excellent condition. All staff we encountered including at the bag drop, club house, on the course, and afterward were friendly and really appreciative of our business. It was a perfect day on a perfect course! Bravo to the 'tone'; as they say, "it starts at the top". Thank you Tom & Staff.
