  • Very pretty building and quite comfortable on a 90 degree day. The volunteers (staff?) had fun stories and history to share. They clearly love what they do and seem excited to engage visitors in...  more »
  • I may be biased, having had a railroad engineer grandfather, but the museum tour is well worth the visit. The tour requests $3.50 per person. Just give in to help the preservation efforts.  more »
  • This is a great small museum. The staff are super friendly and can relate the history of the town and items found here. There is some hands on exhibits. Gift shop has something for everyone. Even some old coins for sale some of which are more valuable them asking price. Good parking and close to a lot of the area exhibits.
  • My adult daughters and myself visited this museum today while walking around Historic Wallace Idaho. This museum is free to visit but does encourage and accept donations (they do not in any way pressure anyone for donations). What a gem! It says it is a self guided tour but there was a gentleman (Colonel Wallace) who showed us around the downstairs and explained how everything worked. Upstairs we wandered around and used the interactive displays, including the detailed model railroad and town. Again, there was another man who was happy to show us things, explain how things worked and encouraged our questions. The lady whi works in the gift shop and also makes the jewelry was fun to talk to. This is a must do when in Wallace. Good for young and old alike! Oh, and there is also a take one and leave one basket of painted rocks for people to enjoy.
