From the U.S. Air Force's first jet fighter to history's fastest plane, see the development of flight on a grand scale at Museum of Aviation. One of the largest of its kind in the United States, the museum displays a sizeable collection of civilian and military aircrafts and pays homage to the heroes and pioneers of aviation. Visit the museum for the chance to see both famous and very rare airplanes and helicopters, such as the Epps 1912 Monoplane, the iconic Huey, or the F-80C Shooting Star. Don't miss the SR-71A Blackbird, the very plane that set the world speed record back in 1976. The museum also features a cafe and gift shop, and admission is free. A visit to Museum of Aviation represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Warner Robins trip itinerary builder website to plot your vacation.

Came here with my family on family day. There were so many things to see there. The flight simulators were fun, realistic. Allowing the kids to get into each of the types of planes and helicopters was a great experience, too. We grabbed food at the food trucks that may only be there for the day, I think. Lots of room to walk or play in different sections outside. So many awesome planes to see up close. Worth every minute we spent there and we will be back another time without the children so we can take it a slower.

There is so much to learn here. You can't just come once! Plus it's free! But I recommend giving a donation (which they do accept) for the upkeep and expansion of the museum. There's a cute little playground outside for the kids (they are planning to upgrade) and space for lunch or to just sit and relax. There are plenty of places to sit down inside the museum if you are traveling with anyone who can't walk very far or stand for long. Some of the seats are pilot seats from retired airplanes ! Also, everything was very clean and well maintained.
