  • Wish I could say that it was open when we arrived, but it was later in the day, so it was not. I could see through the glass doors and windows that it would have been an interesting diversion...

  • This is a great stop if you are driving by on a road trip. I think this interpretive center is located next to or at a highway rest stop. The staff was extremely friendly. Staff quickly explained there was a tour about to start at the Fort Mandan Historical site (reviewed separately) and that tickets are purchased at this center. Staff gave us easy directions to the Fort as well. We stopped at this interpretive center specifically to learn more about Lewis and Clark and were unaware of the Fort tour. Bonus! The interpretive center is very well done for a wide age group. There are many interesting information boards. A separate room (Conference room?) had some extra displays and even an interpretive table with a compass and sextant visitors can try out. There was more offered here than we had time for. When traveling through North Dakota, I would stop here again.
  • AMAZING! Had so fun on the tour, the tour guide through the rebuilt Fort Mandan; Grace, absolutely crushed it with information and quizzes. The interpretive center has a great selection books and the info around the center was vast. I walked away learning so much more than I had previously known. 100% recommend the $8 for the pass. Every employee loved the history of L&C and so much more. It was truly a pleasure to converse in conversation in history. Don’t pass out on learning about Fort Mandan and the winter of 1804/05. There is so much more…
