The Enid A. Haupt Garden is a 4.2 acre public garden in the Smithsonian complex, adjacent to the Smithsonian Institution Building (the "Castle") on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was designed to be a modern representation of American Victorian gardens as they appeared in the mid to late 19th century. It replaced an existing Victorian Garden which had been built to celebrate the nation's Bicentennial in 1976.

  • While visiting DC with my daughter, we stumbled upon the Enid A. Haupt Garden and we were delighted. The grounds were beautiful and we had a wonderful evening exploring amongst the saucer magnolias...  more »
  • This garden is right behind the castle building. The magnolias were in bloom. There are no other people there. A nice spot.  more »

  • I love this garden. When there’s nobody else around you can enjoy the landscaping, flowers and calmness. You’ll find fountains as well as birds so it makes a nice escape from the mall.
  • Nice garden full of different type of species of horticulture. Theres a water fountain in the ground feels nice. Nice place to have a snack
