The Enid A. Haupt Garden is a 4.2 acre public garden in the Smithsonian complex, adjacent to the Smithsonian Institution Building (the "Castle") on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was designed to be a modern representation of American Victorian gardens as they appeared in the mid to late 19th century. A simple and amazing garden that is free and if you go early in the day, it's like a small getaway. There is so much to see that you can easily get lost here. Art, plants and quietness is all here. I really love coming here and try to come every time I'm in DC and have a free moment. This is a really special place that should not be missed.

Gorgeous garden. Lots of cute little areas that are nice to sit in. There are many benches throughout the property to enjoy a short rest. I loved the saucer and tulip magnolia trees, if you can see them in bloom you're very lucky.
