The Enid A. Haupt Garden is a 4.2 acre public garden in the Smithsonian complex, adjacent to the Smithsonian Institution Building (the "Castle") on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was designed to be a modern representation of American Victorian gardens as they appeared in the mid to late 19th century. It replaced an existing Victorian Garden which had been built to celebrate the nation's Bicentennial in 1976.

  • Beautiful garden right on the National Mall. Great place to stop in and experience the beauty while in the midst of touristing.

  • A simple and amazing garden that is free and if you go early in the day, it's like a small getaway. There is so much to see that you can easily get lost here. Art, plants and quietness is all here. I really love coming here and try to come every time I'm in DC and have a free moment. This is a really special place that should not be missed.
  • Gorgeous garden. Lots of cute little areas that are nice to sit in. There are many benches throughout the property to enjoy a short rest. I loved the saucer and tulip magnolia trees, if you can see them in bloom you're very lucky.
