Dedicated both to the memory of FDR and the era he represents, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial spans over 3 hectares (7 acres) and features a famous bronze statue of the 32nd U.S. president and his beloved dog, Fala. The memorial's four outdoor spaces trace the 12 years Roosevelt spent in office with scenes of listeners tuning in to his fireside chats and unemployed workers standing in a long bread line. The memorial also includes a bronze statue of Eleanor Roosevelt, which is the only presidential memorial depicting a first lady. In consideration of Roosevelt's disability, the memorial's designers created a site easily accessible to those suffering from physical impairments. Take an interpretative tour of the memorial, available all day. I loved, loved being there. The largest by far, among the monuments. Beautiful water falls, tons of bronze. The bread line is a must. Take a photo there. I had many taken over the years. more »

This is one of the best place I’ve had the privilege to visit, it marks a Social Story Of President Roosevelt’s four term carrier. During each of his Inauguration Speech, President Roosevelt delivered a breathtaking statement to mark his footsteps and his agenda. Just stunning.

Relevant quotes that fit today's world. Take your kiddos. Spend time with them talking about the history of this Presidency/First Lady. Even though they had a flood in the pump room (no water in the Memorial), they need to pay some attention to it. General maintenance.
