Create an itinerary including Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
Dedicated both to the memory of FDR and the era he represents, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial spans over 3 hectares (7 acres) and features a famous bronze statue of the 32nd U.S. president and his beloved dog, Fala. The memorial's four outdoor spaces trace the 12 years Roosevelt spent in office with scenes of listeners tuning in to his fireside chats and unemployed workers standing in a long bread line. The memorial also includes a bronze statue of Eleanor Roosevelt, which is the only presidential memorial depicting a first lady. In consideration of Roosevelt's disability, the memorial's designers created a site easily accessible to those suffering from physical impairments. Take an interpretative tour of the memorial, available all day.
