East Beach, Watch Hill

Pristine & Picturesque, such is East Beach in Watch Hill, Westerly RI. Access to the beach is gained by walking a winding, narrow but breath takingly beautiful path in which you'll walk past lush carpet of beach rose bushes. Mysterious & Romantic....the path is so narrow and winding you are left kind of in suspense as you walk the path .... you're not really able to see what's coming around the bend as you're walking.... and then.... all of a sudden half way thru the path is a tree that is bent and leans about 180° over the path lending even more to the mysteriousness as it just looms there.....then you see it in the horizon.... immediately behind the bent tree... The narrowness of the path widens, and you're greeted by the that soothing rumbling and crashing of waves, you can literally feel the rumbling its so loud! As you continue to walk this pretty path, suddenly an absolutely gorgeous view of the ocean appears as if by magic in front of your eyes....the sound of the crashing waves drown out all other noises...and your eyes are treated to this most beautiful site....a blue-green ocean & clean sand which rolls right up to your feet to help you greet the large beautiful blue sea.... One of the nicest beaches in New England. No services, but great views of Block Island, Long Island (on a clear day) , and Taylor Swift's RI mansion. A lighthouse and the Ocean House Hotel complete the wonderful vistas from this uncrowded beach. $40-50 parking in Watch Hill ... arrive early on weekends.
