Ben & Jerry's, Waterbury

3.6
A buffet of creative flavors greets visitors at any Ben & Jerry's location, but Ben & Jerry's includes a tour. You can view a short documentary about the brand's beginnings before being led into the heart of the factory, where ice cream is mixed with delectable ingredients. Sample a scoop of a fresh flavor at the end of your tour. Before leaving the area, take a short hike up the hill to the Flavor Graveyard, where rejected or relieved flavors go to rest. Put Ben & Jerry's and other Waterbury attractions into our Waterbury trip planning site , and watch your holiday take shape.

  • It is a small tour by the factory (actually does not seem to really be the factory, because it is small), but it is interesting. In the end you get a sample of ice cream. There is also a cemetery with the discontinued flavors. It's worth a pass.

  • Fun tour though bummed today production was halted due to a machine malfunction and you only got to see the workers cleaning all the parts. It’s a great view into the precision cleaning the factory us...  more »

  • The tour is a great quick activity with a perfect amount of ice cream to taste at the end. Children under 12 are free, and outside the is a playground and plenty of space to run around. Fun and quirky, with the flavor graveyard and gift shop... I go at least a couple of times a year when we have visitors from out of town.
  • Very cool place to see and visit. Kids will love it! So many flavours of ice cream to choose from, staff were great at handling the crowd of people there. We had an ice cream and then checked out the souvenir shop. Lots of cool Ben & Jerry's souvenirs, from stickers to bowls to writing pads. We bought a scooping spoon, some stickers, bamboo bowls and a patch. We didn't go on the tour, which I think would have been cool to see, maybe next time. The sign on the road is not that big, it's modest, so it can be missed. We got a map from the tourism information centre, it was easy to find from there. Would love to see it in the summer!
