  • This metropark was a stop just off route 70 on our way south. right off the highway, it was a great stop with prairie plantings and a large fishing lake area with trails through meadows and forest...

  • Plenty of great trails and the ranger was very informative when explaining the map to us. Restroom facilities are nice and clean. Bring your tennis shoes and be prepared to spend a few hours.

  • My father worked at this park when it was a quarry for years. As a child it was the neatest thing to go and see the big trucks and equipment. Now I can take his grandchildren on a walk here. While telling them about the time he almost drove our old pinto over the edge of the pit. Then left us in it to go get a truck to pull us back up. He said to us, "Don't move I"ll be right back" . Then walked a mile to get a truck to pull us out. The eighties were a different time. Now this place is a beautiful park and the quarry pits are filled with water. Walking the park is peaceful and relaxing, a far cry from the growling hubbub of heavy equipment that used to rule there. Hands down a fantastic place to go and if you do go and it's dark walk over by the Indian mound and say a prayer for times past and wonder what was their life like here? Seriously though. Go there
  • Great place for a nice walk and pictures.
