The Diamond P Ranch, West Yellowstone

We took the morning 3 hour ride on June 8th because that’s the only option available for that week (I only looked into tours few days earlier). So booking ahead is definitely recommended. Nevertheless, we are happy we took the 3 hour ride instead of the 2 hour for the extended joy. In early June, you get to tread through some snow and beautiful meadows with oceans of wild flowers. My partner didn’t have much riding experience before this but he also had a great time. If you are forced to select the “intermediate” riding experience for booking form submissions like what happened to us, don’t let it stop you. Just keep note down your situation. They put riders in small groups according to their levels. The guides were also super nice and careful. One in front of our 6-person group and one behind the group. They’d adjust our saddles along the way when needed. I took all these pictures with my iPhone. I did wish I had a iPhone case with neck strap then I didn’t need to worry about dropping my phone on the horseback.

Really loved our horse riding trek at Diamond P Ranch. Our horses were so well behaved “Bell Bottom” & “Opera”. We were able to take what we needed with us storing it in the saddle bags. Our guide was a real life cowboy too!! We took a lovey steady ride up through the Gallatin Forest to a ridge clearing and has our photo taken with the Continental Divide in the background. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My husband is not a fan of horse-riding but they gave him the most placid horse and eased his worries. Would definitely recommend and do this activity again but maybe not the day before we went into Yellowstone, because boy were we aching the following day. Thank you for such an amazing experience.
