A cherished landmark in the heart of downtown Wheaton, Illinois at 111 1/4 Front Street – The Little Popcorn Shore (aka Little Popcorn Shop) is perhaps one of the most loved and narrowest stores in the Chicagoland area measuring 49 inches wide by 60 feet long.Take the guesswork out of planning a Wheaton vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.
In the 1920’s, Wheaton resident E. Claire Brown placed a roof over what was formerly an alleyway between two buildings. Turning the new space into a store, he called it the In-Between Store and sold popcorn and penny candy.
Today, stepping into the store’s small, quaint space is like walking into a Norman Rockwell painting. Popcorn is still freshly popped, candy lines the wall, and locals greet each other warmly while welcoming newcomers to this very special place called The Little Popcorn Shore.

Read about this in "Only in Your State" and knew that we had to take a mini road trip to check it out, along with a few other local places. Love this store! How can you not ... it used be an alley..... more

Always consistently excellent from the popcorn to the friendliness of the staff. Popcorn prices are great and they have a variety of sizes from just a snack to a huge party bag. Huge selection of candy with hard to find favorites from my youth. Love everything about this store. Please don't change a thing.

They don’t need me to review them—they’ve been here 100 years. Get your popcorn, get your old-timey candies, get your nostalgia fix, and enjoy your goodies as you walk around historic downtown Wheaton or sit right outside by the fire feature. They’re only letting in 4 people at a time currently due to COVID, but it works out perfectly for me bc I’m using a cane while I heal from throwing my back out. It’s an extremely narrow hallway that probably used to be an alley, so it’s best to send one person in to get your fix. The candy is located on the left wall, and you could probably reach out your right arm and touch the other wall, if you’re not short and physically disabled. Tall people could also likely reach the top shelves of candy, so bring your designated Tall Friend. No bathroom info as I would think it’s for employees only due to the small space, but there are plenty of other places right near the store where one could have access to a bathroom. The outside seating is really nice, too. Lots of options from wrought iron seating, to benches, to concrete half-walls I use as lean-to’s. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the special needs mom who is now herself temporarily disabled
