Kansas Wildlife Exhibit, Wichita

What a fun place! The animals are all rescues, and obviously well cared for. Todd was amazing, with in-depth knowledge of each animal, both personal histories and of their species in general. Definitely worth a stroll, if not an hour+. Ask to see Chuck, the most handsome vulture in KS.

Riverside Park is the best and Kansas Wildlife Exhibit might be the most charming feature. Nestled alongside the playground and splash pad, stands a collection of native animals that can no longer live in the wild. Every day at noon the animals are fed by the staff, who take the opportunity to educate and engage with the public. They bring animals out so that people can get a closer view. My 4 year old is so enamored that he had his birthday party in the park, outside of the exhibit.... The upside is that the staff will happily teach your child how to recognize a red-tailed hawk. The downside is that amazon does not carry that costume.
