  • The park is HUGE and surrounds a large lake a short distance. Reservations are first come, first served, but not to worry... we arrived on Labor Day Sunday at 7pm and got a choice spot under a tree...

  • We don't eat inside restaurants, we always get takeout. Since we don't live in Wichita, we have to find a place to eat. This park has become our go-to place. Clean, not crowded, pleasant.

  • We always try to make it to the “Great Planes Renaissance fair and Scottish festival”. Held in spring and fall. It’s great fun especially if you like to play the part. Jousting, with a theatrical plot. Very talented craftsmen and artisans. Jewelers, clothier’s, carvers, leather smiths, armorers, potter’s, mead makers, and many other purveyors of fun and interesting things. Oh, and there are educational experiences for young and not so young🙋‍♀️. Had to leave off a star for organizing of the food area. IDK if it’s water or electric is the issue, or something else. Very few food vendors, long lines, tables in the sun instead of in the tent. Poor trash placement. Need to take a lesson from the state fair. 6,000 attendees! I think it warrants a better or improved set up.
  • I take my dog on the hiking trails around here, and little paths. It's great views, has a few tiny lakes like ponds, and a few playgrounds of you have kids! For being in the city, it's very nice and a decent sized park!! I love it here!
