Natchez Trace State Park is located on an alternate route of the old Natchez Trace. This route of the old trace is on the opposite side of the Tennessee River from the Natchez Trace Parkway. The name originally applied to a series of trails and paths that originated with animal migration routes and American Indian trade and travel routes. These were later used by returning boatmen that had floated goods to markets in Natchez and New Orleans from the Nashville area.

  • We were passing through the area on a cross-country road trip and thought we'd stop here to stretch our legs. We hit a local Wal-Mart and got some lunch items and found a picnic area near the lake...

  • Absolutely loved our stay in the cub lake cabins! Fully equipped kitchen was great. The buffet at the pin oak lodge was very good. Folks at the lodge were very nice, very accommodating and super helpful. We did plenty of fishing, kayaking, and hiking during our stay. Would recommend for anyone looking for something more than just a hotel room!
  • Beautiful park. Facilities were well-maintained & clean. We stayed in the camper cabins on Pinoak Lake. We brought our kayaks & were able to launch right at the cabin. Campground was pretty crowded on the weekend--loud kids & dogs. If you prefer seclusion & quiet, it is very peaceful during the week.
