Kona Surf Co., Wildwood

Every time we are in Wildwood, we make sure to visit Kona. It is an awesome shop with plenty of their own branded apparel as well selections of sandals, eyewear, suncare products, and clothes from brands like Quiksilver, RVCA, etc. The shop is really nicely laid out and staff is very helpful. They even have a clearance section where we found a pair of Nike soccer cleats for my daughter (not what I was expecting to get at the surf shop...but she loved them and they were on clearance). You've got to stop by if you are in town (if you are waiting for a table at Dogtooth or Poppis, walk on down to Kona to pass the time!)

"I should have started out at Kona." Kona has been a stalwart of the Wildwood Beach Community for my entire 44 years on this planet. I was literally across the street from a competitor's shop, went there, was yelled at by the competitor's slovenly, smelly, ill-mannered staff, and made to feel stupid. I got back in the car and knew I should have gone to Kona. Kona could simply beat the competition by the fact that their employees look like they shower daily, don't get dressed from the hamper, and brush their teeth. Kona, however, takes pride in their specialty. I was greeted with a bright inviting store with the merchandise laid out in a neat attractive way. The Kona employees are not only impeccably well dressed and clean, they are also knowledgeable and friendly, they took the time to listen to what I was doing (a water park on a colder windy day) and took me to exactly what I asked them to show me. They didn't try to upsell me. I got exactly what I needed at a fair price that not only reflects the quality of the merchandise but the service of knowledgeable employees.
