  • Let's be honest: this place is not for everyone. However, if you like history, enjoy a moderate hike, and appreciate beautiful desert scenery, Fort Bowie is hard to beat. It's about 20 minutes off.....  more »
  • With a very sore food did not know if I could make it to the VC but I did and it was worth it. The signage was great to help visualize what happened along this trail so many years ago.  more »

  • Very interesting and fascinating place. U can learn alot about the American Indian wars. The life of a soldier in real life was not anything like the movies. Ft Bowie had tennis courts a baseball diamond and an ice making machine! Nothing like the Ft Apache movie with John Wayne.
  • Great place to visit and would be a nice hike, but we had a rattlesnake cross our path on the way in to the fort and also seen another one beside the Rocky trail going back out. So watch for snakes and be careful with children on these trails during warm weather. The park ranger was very nice at the visitor center.
