Planes of Fame Air Museum Reviews
We didn’t expect to find much and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and breadth of the exhibits. Well worth the stop. more »

Unfortunately it was a bit shaky that day and we cancelled the scheduled flight with the Cyrus from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Moab at short notice. We were just at San Bernardino airport and then finally at our favorite Museum Planes of Fames Museum and the quaint old American restaurant just a few steps away. We also missed the veterans that day. Unfortunately, our visit was a sad day in the history of Fame Air Museum because a plane from the museum crashed that Monday afternoon. I read this in the newspapers: Chino Planes of Fame pilot David Vopat, pictured here sitting in the Northrup N9MB Flying Wing, was killed Monday afternoon during a test run in the plane for next weekend's Chino Planes of Fame Airshow. It could be several months before investigators have found the reason a 75-year-old Northrop Flying Wing crashed in a Norco prison on Monday afternoon, the closest it was to his pilot during a test flight for the Planes of Fame Airshow. weekend at Chino airport. The pilot, identified from Chino, died in a crash at 12:01 p.m. at the California Rehabilitation Center on Fifth Street and Western Avenue west of the 15 Freeway, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. He was an experienced pilot of the Aircraft Museum and was to fly the bright yellow N9MB in the air show scheduled for next weekend for Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. He had been flying the N9MB for several years and was the aircraft's chief mechanic, according to officials at the Aviation Museum. "We are also deeply saddened by the loss of the pilot and his deepest sympathies go out to his family.
We live near Pima Air Museum in Tucson and this place, although much smaller, is better in many ways. Lots of wonderful memorabilia, must visit!
Super cool Air museum. Get a rare look at the engine of an ME109. Nice guys working there too.
