Williamsburg Pottery, Williamsburg

#10 of 23 in Shopping in Williamsburg
Gift & Specialty Shop · Shopping
Established in 1938 as a local pottery store and workshop, today Williamsburg Pottery is one of the most popular sites in Virginia's Historic Triangle. Located near Colonial Williamsburg, the store occupies a mall-like space and, thanks to renovations, the design recalls a European-style market. Wander the display areas and take in the different styles of pottery and crafts, including the store's signature salt-glazed items. If pottery isn't your passion, browse the extensive selection of other decorative items for your home, such as baskets, candles, frames, and kitchenwares. Be sure to try some of the local craft wines as well. • Whenever I think about visiting Williamsburg, I think to. Isit the Pottery. It has changed over the years but I was glad to see that they were still there...barely in business...but found some one...  more »
  • DANGEROUS!!!! Hold on to your purses ladies! Incredible deals, incredible buys, wow on the sales and hope and pray you don't live too close to this place! We bought a 10 piece place setting and 10 cups to go with it, clearance for $30! They have things you wouldn't find in regular stores and what you do find in stores, they are far below their prices, you want to buy it for those "just in case" times. Maybe Christmas presents would suffice purchasing some items now... anyone that moves to these neck of the woods, I will be directing them to this place to go shopping for ALL OF THEIR INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR NEEDS, FOOD AND WINE NEEDS TOO!!!!
  • I would have given it more stars if we weren't treated like we were inconveniencing the staff for being there. Seeing as we were the only ones in the entire complex besides one other person that I saw. We got told 4 times that we had an hour left before they closed and then reminded as we kept shopping as the time went down. It's nothing like the old buildings, it did look very nice and I was excited at first. But if you're hoping for the same experience as your childhood as I was it's quite disappointing. The prices aren't reasonable except for a few sale items and the staff seems bored and ready to leave apparently. It became a vacation joke to stop there for the rest of our week because it was "so" exciting.. insert sarcasm here. Change and updates are necessary but I believe there needs to be some training on customer relations and better spaces management. There were tons of empty shelves..
